Dr. Park, Hyung Bae, Korea. Director, High Performance Brain Institute. Our institute's goal is to evaluate brain functions related to learning and improve brain functions of that evaluation. There are numerous cases of failures to improve learning ability even though so many students are spending so much time and money to study. Learning will yield the most effective results when function of inner brain related with learning, method of good study and environment are combined all together harmoniously. So far, we are spending so much money and time developing teaching methods factoring in brain neurology. Car will break down soon if the cars are run on roughs. This tells us students will be leaded to another psychological problem on top of developing learning stress if we expect good results from students who doesn't have learning ability by teaching hard and giving heavy homeworks without correcting neuro psychological problems. I came to the conclusion, students are unable to learn not they don't want to learn, through my numerous clinical experiments. It will lead to the ruined results without understanding the child's neurological disability before they show their brilliant talents by labeling them as a congenitally dislikeable child, lazy child, merry go child and dull child. Anyone will show proper behavior function with good behavior function. On the other hand, one will not display good behavior with bad behaviour. For example, one tend not to use the hurting arm if one arm hurts. Human beings are born with different set of reacting neurological system as in different blood type or different set of finger prints. We recognize child as a good behavior child if a child' neurological system fortunately is fit to our educational and evaluating system. We can not tell one's innate neurological system superior or inferior. One can yield superior result if one was given different task instead of studying by current educational system. Our institute will help to find one's innate neurological esteem(characteristics) by evaluating strength and predicting circumstances when one might get into rough situation in near future, by finding one's own neurological profile. We also like to extend our hand to easy the tensions in the relationship each other ,such as, between neurological difference between parents and children, and between teachers and students

Dr. Alfred A. Tomatis, France Founder: Tomatis Method Dr. Alfred A. Tomatis was born on January 1, 1920 in Nice (France), and passed away on Christmas Day 2001. When he was eleven, he moved to Paris and became an ENT (Ear, Nose and Throat specialist). After the second world war he started studying the impact of occupational noise. What he found was outright revolutionary. Some people believe that he should have been awarded the Nobel prize. In recognition of his discoveries, he was named Knight of Public Health of France in 1951. Later on, he was also awarded the gold medal for Scientific Research (Brussels, 1958). Tomatis has written extensively. He has written 14 books, and numerous articles. Unfortunately, only 3 of his books have been translated into English. Attached you can find a partial bibliography. Over the years, Tomatis has treated many famous people. Most of them wish to stay anonymous, but some have spoken out publicly. Among those are Maria Callas, Romy Schneider and Gerard Depardieu. Tomatis also established Tomatis Centers in many countries around the world. There are only eight centers in the USA. You can find their addresses on this website, as well as the addresses of Centers in Canada and Mexico.

· Interactive Metronome for Sensory Motor Training

사진
Matthew Wukasch, BS. MSM, Purdue University, U.S.A CEO and Founder: Interactive Metronome I helped start Interactive Metronome nine years ago. The technology was invented by James Cassily, a very creative man whose life was dedicated to recording music with professional musicians. While his new technology showed promise for improving rhythm in musicians, what drew me to Interactive Metronome was how that same technology could be applied to help children and adults with neurological and motor difficulties. I was inspired to help bring Mr. Cassily’s invention to market because of a personal connection I had with one of the first children to benefit from its use. The child’s name was Jimmy Eggleston. Jimmy, eight years of age, was born without a leg and also had some neurological complications. To move around his home he crawled on the floor because he never learned the balance needed to use his prosthetic leg and rolling walker. After Jimmy used the Interactive Metronome for only one month he was able to walk unassisted for the first time in his life. Jimmy’s parents were friends of mine and I got to see the improvements that Interactive Metronome made in their family’s lives. I was so inspired by this story that I left my career and dedicated myself to making improvements to the invention so that other children and adults could be helped just like Jimmy Eggleston. Before coming to Interactive Metronome I had worked for United Technologies Corporation (UTC). I was recruited to United Technologies’ Corporate Leadership Program after graduating from Purdue University with a Master’s degree in Management Science and I worked there for 12 years. My educational and corporate training certainly gave me the skills required for taking an invention and making it commercially viable . But the continued success and growth of Interactive Metronome has been led by the dedicated network of Interactive Metronome Providers that are improving people’s lives one at a time. In the United States we have over 10,000 IM providers. Our network is over 30,000 professionals with almost every large healthcare system in the country using the IM. We learned along the way that educating professionals who will use the IM about its benefits is the best way to insure the growth of our company. Our company’s mission is to provide innovative IM technologies to a growing network of Providers and to continuously educate them about the best clinical practices and methods of use. We welcome High Performance Brain Institute as one of our newest and brightest international distributors. We are very happy to be associated with them because they share the values and ideals that made Interactive Metronome what it is today.

Dr. Stanley I. Greenspan, M.D., U.S.A Clinical Professor of Psychiatry, Behavioral Sciences, and Pediatrics at George Washington University Medical School, a practicing child psychiatrist, and Chairman of the Interdisciplinary Council on Developmental and Learning Disorders Dear Parent: One of the most significant underlying processing capacities with which we have been working is motor planning and sequencing. The capacity to plan and sequence actions or thoughts relates directly to a child’s ability to attend, follow directions, carry out and plan actions, and solve problems, as well as read, write, do math, and most importantly, think. Until recently, we have only been able to approach children’s planning and sequencing capacities through surface behaviors in remedial education programs, which involve practicing such basics as writing or following directions. Now, however, we believe there is a new method of enabling a child to directly improve his/her underlying processing abilities for motor planning and sequencing and, therefore, strengthen many of his/her most fundamental learning capacities. Several years ago, I was invited to become a member of the Interactive Metronome Scientific Advisory Board, and accepted the position of Director of Research. James Cassily and many others have spent years developing, researching and documenting this new approach to addressing underlying neural capacities, rather than just treating symptoms. The published results of several of the recent IM studies I have overseen, strongly indicate that there is new hope on the horizon for concerned parents, health care providers and educators. One such double blind study examined the effect of the IM on children diagnosed as having Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. Most of the IM children in that study evidenced significant positive gains in their capacity to focus and attend; plan, sequence, and coordinate actions; as well as a variety of cognitive and language skills, including reading, spelling, and math. Importantly, each child’s gains were also unique in relationship to his/her abilities and/or challenges. A number of parents have asked about what type of experiences at home can support Interactive Metronome Training. While many of the traditional approaches to learning are helpful, a frequently overlooked, but very helpful experience is to have long conversations with one’s child about a variety of topics, from favorite music and TV shows to friends, school, etc. It’s especially helpful to practice anticipating and visualizing both positive and negative experiences that may happen tomorrow and to discuss potential solutions to the negative ones. In these conversations, it’s also important to create opportunities for the child to reflect on his/her own experiences and feelings (i.e., take an interest in his/her opinions and help him/her elaborate). When a child is engaged in long opinion-oriented conversations, he/she is not only feeling emotionally supported; he/she is practicing attention, thinking and problem solving. If possible, I suggest you read my book, Building Healthy Minds (Perseus Books, 1999). It shows how sequencing motor actions and behaviors is a vital part of the six essential building blocks of intelligence and emotional health. These include attention, engagement, purposeful actions, complex problem-solving interaction, creating ideas, and logical, abstract thinking. The ability to sequence actions allows the growing infant and child to develop ideas and concepts, and ultimately become purposeful and functional in his world. Reading it should help you provide your child with the opportunity to expand upon his IM Training experience. Thank you for caring so much about the future of your loved one. Too many kids today are left to fend for themselves in an increasingly difficult world. Sincerely, Stanley I. Greenspan, M.D.
